By now everyone and their mother has heard about the Kendall Jenner-Pepsi ad where she uses Pepsi to help bridge the gap between protestors and police (?). Sadly, I can’t post the video because I don’t own a “premium” account on wordpress because I’m more broke then Pepsi’s PR team.
Usually I don’t like to get involved with Internet outrage as it tends to be pointless and get’s nothing done in the grand scheme of things. Sure, Pepsi pulled the ad and apologized but Kendall Jenner still got her money so who really cares.
But with that being said, this is a piece of Internet outrage I can get behind. I’m sick and tired of these pop ads acting like pop brings people together, it doesn’t. Unless you’re talking about a type 2 diabetes support group. Never in the history of the world did a group of people come together over a couple of Pepsis, no one has ever had to many Pepsis and shared their feelings in an embarrassingly manner. People share their feelings after they’ve had way to much tequila and proceed to projectile vomit all over their friend’s bathroom. Booze brings people together, pop is what you mix with booze when your just not feeling shots.
So cut the shit Pop, stop pretending you bring people together AND FOR GOD’S SAKE RELEASE SANTA CLAUSE!
P.S. Kris Jenner is 10000000000000% behind this. She knew this ad was going to get backlash, that’s what makes her such an evil villain, she knew that there’s no such thing as bad publicity and Pepsi even apologized to Kendall Jenner, even though something tells me Kendall won’t returning that nice check they sent her. Kris Jenner is the closest thing we have to a real life Game of Thrones character.
